Today was eventful in so many many ways! Firstly we boarded the plane and it was fine, terminal five at heathrow was excellent. Ash was getting excited about all the new films on the plane and when we sat in out seats the tvs did not work, so we had a seven hour flight ahead with nothing to do. We thought we would get the cards out but then remembered we don't actually know any card games beyond snap!

Then when we got off the plane there was no one waiting for us for our tour as expected so we had to ring the tour company and they hardly understood what ash was saying. The guide then showed up and told us to wait for him and disappeared for half an hour! When he finally came back he said to follow him to the bus, he ran to the airtrain and tried to squeeze us onto a full carriage with our 15kg backpacks, ash had to prize the door open as it started to close to get him off this train and tell him we needed to wait for the next one as there was no way we would fit in there!

When we made it off the train he started running for some random reason, is this what our trip was going to be like? Chasing a crazy Chinese man through the airport? What the hell! He put us on the bus and guess what? It was the wrong hotel! We then had to wait ages to get to the right hotel and it is in fact thirty miles from new York! Fail.

It has been pretty rubbish as a first day and god knows what's going to happen on this tour over the next five days but we haven't let it get us down and have been making a joke of it all, the hotel is really nice and we have had a swim and jacuzzi and a big pizza and some Samuel Adams beers, ash is now watching American football in hd so we are okay!!! This tour was dirt cheap so we aren't shocked it seems to be highly disorganised and run by a bunch of mental Chinese people! haha!

We will try to update as often as possible, tomorrow we are going on a tour around new York and Philadelphia, so here's to a new day!!
