Today dad and I dropped the cars back at 7:30am. It was just down the road from Disneyland and there was already a steady stream of people walking there. As the sun shone we rose to a calm day on the west coast road. This morning we visited the castle on the hill, Hearst Castle. This was built by William Randolph Hearst in the early to mid 1900's and sits on the hills above San Simeon on the Hearst cattle ranch. We left Monterey for day 2 on highway 1 along the west Californian coast. Soon after leaving, the road started to hug the coastline in what resembled the Great Ocean Road.
