Today dad and I dropped the cars back at 7:30am. It was just down the road from Disneyland and there was already a steady stream of people walking there. We decided to be more civilised and headed there at 9:30. It was only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Matilda and Emily were uber excited as we walked down to the entrance. After sorting out tickets, we entered Disneyland after they took our photos (Stacey thinks it is all sent to FBI for tracking). The plan was to wander around and see the lands (for those new to Disneyland setups it is separated into land sections). We started in Adventureland and found that the Pirates of the Caribbean ride had a short wait time. This is one of the original rides and when I was here 30 something years ago we drove mum and dad crazy going on it. It was a family affair with everyone going on. We headed onwards from this ride and found that Splash Mountain had a short queue. After the kids convinced us it was a good idea, we bought 4 ponchos and Stacey and I joined them. With 2 slides (more like big drops) you got a bit wet, but thankfully the ponchos took most of the water. Matilda and Emily couldn't get enough so they went back and dad joined them. After dragging them away we made our way to Star Wars land. I did my best wookie impression which offended Chewbacca and he blew me off. Stacey, Sue and dad did a test run on the Millennium Falcon ride as it is 4D. They said it was good, but may not be best for the rest who are not great with motion issues. After a quick shoot out at the range in Frontierland the tummies rumbled for lunch. After lunch we headed over to Tomorrowland and Buzz Lightyears adventure. Again a family affair with the competition to see who could get the most points. I think we will be back to this one again as competition is strong in the Muggleton household. The kids wanted to refine their driving skills so dad and I took them on Autopia. All was going well until we hit an LA style traffic jam on the ride. Not kidding it took about 5 mins to clear. The calling of Splash Mountain was too strong as it only had a 5 min wait. So back we went with Stacey and Sue being good aunties and taking them for 2 runs. After a full day in the park we headed back for kids to have a swim, dinner, Sonoma Valley wine and bed as we get to do it all again tomorrow. 4 day park hopper pass of fun, but the feeling is Splash Mountain will dominate our time here.
