Today was more science with a trip to Golden Gate park for the California Academy of Science. This was recommended by Stacey and Sue and Dr Penny found good reviews on the web. We caught the bus straight outside the hotel to city hall and then swapped to another bus. Today we conquered "The Rock". It was a short walk from the hotel to Pier 33 where we caught the ferry to Alcatraz Island for a visit - not customers today! The sun was shining and it was a flat cruise out to the island. After a quick chat from Ranger John about the island we wandered around. We woke to sunshine which was a big change compared to yesterday. After finishing the packing we headed to Canada Place for the last time. The Olympic cauldron was clear so we could get a closer photo and look. We even had great views across the harbour to the mountains.
