It was an early start as we had a magic morning today. For those not familiar with this term it means you have access to the Disneyland park and rides 1 hour before general admission can enter. Less queue's and people around. It is a good time to be in Disneyland. Stacey, Sue, Emily and Matilda wanted to ride Space Mountain. This is a rollercoaster inside with no lights. While they did this Penny and I went on Buzz Lightyear again to get some practice in. From there we went to the Matterhorn and each time walked straight on with no queues. As our magic hour came to a close we headed over to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad as we had not yet done this. We walked past the roped off section where the general admission are allowed to enter the park but have to wait behind a rope. It was quite funny to see them waiting eagerly. Once the rope dropped they ran to get to their favourite section, good thing we got a head start. We did a couple of runs on Big Thunder and Penny joined us for one. We then went to Splash Mountain for a few goes. There were no people in the lines at all. Each time we got straight on to a boat.
Mum and dad joined us and we headed into California Adventure Park as the weekend crowd became big and made queues long. The girls went to the Incredicoaster again while Penny and I grabbed coffee. It was hard to believe but the queue for the coffee was as long as it was for the rollercoaster. As we met up with the girls they finished their ride so the coffee was not cold. Matilda wanted to do Grizzly's River Run again, so Emily and I joined her. Once again we walked straight on. I guess noone wanted to get wet this morning, lucky we had ponchos. The water seemed to be moving faster today and with only the 3 of us in the raft we got splashed a bit more. By the end of the ride I was very wet and uncomfortable. We left to go back to hotel for a break as we had an early start so I walked as fast so I could get out of my wet clothes.
We started to tidy up the room during our siesta as we leave for Santa Monica tomorrow. Around 4:30pm we headed back into Disneyland for some gift shopping and to see the park at night. It has a different feel with everthing lit up. The queues are still big, but the kids found a few things to do. After some discussion we formed a crew of 6 and headed for the Star Wars Millenium Falcon ride. The wait was only 55 minutes. We were kept entertained by Matilda and the other displays on the way. After receiving our instructions on what to do we loaded into the flight cockpit and buckled up. Sue and Matilda were pilots, Emily and dad were gunners and Stacey and I were engineers. We all worked hard and in the end successfully completed our mission. The engineers achieved 100% in their roles! We walked back to the hotel as we could easily see the fireworks from there without having to deal with the crowds. It was a 10 minute extravaganza of colour with some flashing lights as well. It was then to bed so we can get an early start on our last day in the park.
