We hit the I some number heading for the canyon. A big day of driving for kurt. We pass the Hoover dam taking photos as we zoomed by. We preferred to look up the Hoover damson Wikipedia rather than stop and read any plaques. It is just a big body of water. We stop at a dive of a truck stop for gas and get some great snaps of the area 51 murals. Onwards we go trying to book accommodation on the fly. Turns out the grand Canyon is popular this time of year and we are stuck in a $75 per night (including taxes) hotel. Despite being in a non smoking room the place stunk like smoke and urine.
