We drive out about an hour from Williams to the grand canyon national airport on the south rim of the canyon. We are doing a 1 hour chopper tour of the grand hole in the ground. We are early and they are late so we snooze for a bit in the reception area. The canyon is awesome. Big. You lose perspective because the Colorado river in the photos ( the brown river) is actually 100m wide! It was awesome to see. After that we hit the road unsure where we were headed. Basically flipped a coin and headed to Phoenix. No crap hotels anymore. We score a deal on the Sheraton in downtown Phoenix. Tomorrow is a big drive for mr KD. 6 hours to san Diego along the Mexico border. We will stop at Yuma for lunch. Friday night is a baseball game at the San Diego padre's home ground against the la dodgers.
