We woke up at around 9.30am and quickly headed down to catch breakfast. We had some toast, fruit and cake and then did some research on what are next plans would be.

The were no buses to Paraty so we would have to go straight to Rio. We also found that it was cheaper to go to Salvador after new years so we booked that flight. We also looked into beaches and Amazon trips but the options were endless. We decided to play the rest as it came.

We then went up to the room and Shivani watched tv and slept, while I got showered and caught up with the blog. It was raining pretty hard and we were in no mood to go out. After the rain stopped I decided to go out and get the bus tickets to Rio. Shivani wanted to stay in as she was too tired.

So I set off on the metro, which I was now used to and found easy to use. I got to the bus terminal and quickly sorted the tickets which I had earlier researched online. I then headed back on the metro but got off a stop early to have a bit of a walk.

I walked down Paulista which was quite busy, everything seemed to be open as normal and they didn't seem to do boxing day. I went into a mall and found it had decent food court which would probably come in handy another day. I then completed the walk back to hotel.

Shivani had showered and slept a bit and we decided to go for Indian for dinner. It was still early so we watched tv while we waited for the place to open. 7pm came round and we took a taxi over to the restaurant. We were one of the first there but it quickly filled up as it had a good reputation. The food we had was good although the mixed grill was quite fishy. We hadn't eaten all day and this was a welcome tasty meal.

We were stuffed and decided to walk back. We took a leisurely walk and passed the shops which were closing. The chirstmas lights were on and there was still a festive mood. We got back to the hotel and Shivani got an icecream and watched tv, while I went downstairs to get a beer and write the blog. After I finished I went upstairs and after watching tv for a bit we went to bed.
