We woke up early in the morning excited to go to the beach. We went and had some breakfast before heading to town to see if we could get money. Luckily my card worked and we could now pay for stuff again!! We immediately splashed out on a new pair of sunnys for Shivani before reserving a couple of sun beds and umbrella on the beach. We then went back to the room an got changed into our swim gear and packed our beach bag.
We then headed out to the beach and to our sunbeds. It was a boiling hot sunny day perfect for the beach. After settling in and making acquaintance with our beach boys we headed into the sea. It was a little cold but also really nice. The water was clear and a coral reef kept the water calm, although a few rocks underfoot did make walking a bit uncomfortable. After swimming around for a while we came back to our beds and got our books out to read.
Shivani was engrossed in hers but I read mine slowly looking around at the busy beach, watching all the people go by and the sellers sell their goods. The were plenty of food and drinks to be had on the beach and the a-ca-i sellers were particularly vocal. I settled for a cold beer and we also tried some BBQ cheese which was delicious too.
In the afternoon we got hungry so headed to one of the restaurants on the edge of the beach. We found a busy one playing live music and I had some excellent grilled snapper while Shivani had a salad. After we headed back to our sun beds and I had a little snooze while Shivani sunbathed and read.
We relaxed all afternoon just reading and enjoying doing nothing. As the sun started to go down Shivani got to the end of her book and after she finished we made our way back to the hostel.
We then showered up and got ready to go out for dinner. We went to a place on second beach that did a mix of food and I went for the all you could eat BBQ and Shivani a pizza. Shivani's pizza was really good but my BBQ took ages to come and wasn't that great bar the sausages. We spent quite some time there waiting for my food and got so fed up waiting for the bill we went to the counter and paid there.
We then went and got cocktail from one of the stalls. Shivani wanted the fancy one served in the cocoa fruit. We then headed to the beach where we sat and chilled. There was a party on the beach that night and they were just setting up and getting started. I was tired however and it was coming up to midnight. We stayed and listened to the laid back music a little while before heading back to the hostel and to bed. We hadn't done much today but it had felt really relaxing and good it made us look forward to our beach days to come.
