We arrived at the edge of the city at 7am. We had an okay nights sleep except from some customary heavy snoring from the passengers around us. The traffic was really heavy and we didn't get to the bus station till 9am.
We took a taxi to the hostel and on arriving found that they had lost our booking. They only had a room for one night so we would have to stay at there sister hotel the next day. We couldn't check in yet as it was too early so decided to go on the free walking tour that started soon downtown.
It was quite far away do we decided to take taxi. The traffic was quite bad and we just made it to the meeting point on time. There were a lot of people on the tour and it was tough to hear the guide at some point. Shivani did however find her namesake, who we ran into later again.
The tour wasn't actually that good although we did get a few main sites pointed out that we could visit. It also rained during the tour meaning we had to cut it short and got quite wet too. It also made the floor slippery, which I couldnt handle that well in my flip flops.
After the tour we went to the cafe Tortini which was a old famous coffee shop. We had a coffee there before heading off down calle Florida which was the main shopping street. We were kinda hungry now so were looking for a place to eat. We couldn't really find anywhere and walked around for ages before asking in a hotel and being pointed to a pizzeria near by.
The place looked good but I had a very chessey pizza and Shivani a plain pasta with tomato sauce. It satisfied us enough and after we decided to walk back to the hostel. It was pretty far and took us over an hour to walk back. When we got back our room was ready and was actually quite nice. I was feeling pretty tired and after a much needed shower I took a knap.
I ended up having to be woken up by Shivani. It was about 10pm, I was still tired but it was Friday night and I felt we had to go out. So I slowly got ready and we headed out to the square close by that had been recommended to us.
It was pretty busy and had a lot of bars serving snack food and drinks. We found a space outside one that was playing r'n'b. I managed to order a pitcher of beer by mistake and Shivani had a cocktail. We sat there and slowly drank our drinks and watched the scene. Argentinians seemed to like to eat late and generally just drink slowly and have a chat.
After I finished the pitcher with the help of Shivani, it was after midnight and Shivani was a little tired. We decided to head back but stopped at one bar on the way. This place had a nice atmosphere and a really cool terrace upstairs, which I only found out about when we were leaving. The party looked pretty good but we went back to the hostel and went to sleep.
