First thing this morning I met two of my dad's cousins, Ronnie and Randy. (Tracy, you'll have to help me figure out the proper way to label them!) I also forgot to mention in yesterday's post that I also met my great-aunt Denny. She rode up with my grandparents. My step cousin (?) Timmy came along as well, whom I haven't seen in about 13 years. He's a lot taller, but very much the same I remember him.
My dad and I took a drive down a long dirt road.We are less than 40 miles from the border, and my dad wanted to see if the road led to Canada. Along the way we saw pronghorn, cattle, deer, squirrels, mallards, sheep, a really pretty species of goose, a hawk, Canada geese, and what we think was an eagle. I'm really kicking myself for not bringing a field guide! Of course the times when the animals were really close, my camera was acting up! The road dead ended at a ranch, so we didn't make it to Canada. We drove about 50 miles round trip though!
We went to visit Granner some more. She showed me the baby afgans she's working on, and was excited to hear that I crochet as well. She still makes afgans for all the children born in the family. Pretty remarkable!
