Tried again for the walking tour and this time the guide showed up. yet another good tour and guide. showed the various squares and went in places i normally wouldn't have even known existed. a great restaurant that used to be a casino had huge rooms with old paintings on the walls and tiles from all over Spain. Very cool. went in a couple of churches and the cathedral. one of the churches had been damaged by an earthquake but hadn't been restored, was fascinating to see. travelled on the funicular. went through various areas of Lisbon, the best being the Alfalma area. the oldest part and the people still live as they did years ago with communal wash areas, public baths and limited kitchens, very interesting and worth the hill walk. finished at the castle but didn't go in. caught the bus back into town and got some lunch. had a wander around before going back to the hostel. had a little chill out time as not feeling 100% still. went off out the the Expo 98 site and the shopping mall. had a wander around but not too much to see (or i missed it). in my newly growed up state went to the cinema alone again to see Bewitched. a less traumatic trip this time and the film was very enjoyable. so cheap over here as well, adult ticket is about 3.50 in pounds. taxi back again and packed before bed.
