Got up about 9. tried to eat as much as poss at breakfast to try and delay lunch. went on Mike's Bike Tour around the town with a group of Busabouters. Showed some of the sights and gave the town's history. Explained the leaning thin houses (taxed per square foot) and they lean because they need to as the windows would break?! The houses have hooks on the outside roof to move the furniture from one floor to another - pretty weird but cool. Bike tour went out of the town into the local countryside. Saw a windmill and visited cheese and clog factory. The farmer was a complete nutter which made the visit fun, very smelly cheese room tho. Saw clogs being made and found out significance of colours (yellow to work, red to dance etc). Very interesting tour. Came back into the city through pretty park where hippies lived in the 70s, apparently was a tent city. Passed the Hilton hotel where John Lennon and Yoko Ono made their bed protest. Can still see the writing on the window. Apparently the suite is 4 times more expensive than the others as left in original state. Returned bikes after stop at a bar. Really good guide again, funny and informative while not bogging down with too much detail. Bumped into Mark and after a delayed lunch (breakfast worked!) went to Anne Frank's House. So interesting. Mark hadn't really heard of her and is now inspired to read the book so my influence worked! Museum really well done, got a feel of what it must have been like. saw the moving bookcase and the really small space they lived in. Was quite an experience. came back and talked to room mates for a bit. set off to find an internet cafe and will go back hostel and sleep. Well that was the plan but ended up having a very amusing night chaperoning Mal and Phil around the red light district! Turned into late night.
