Didn't sleep too well with the various boat noises, so I wasn't up quite as early to see the sunset. We had breakfast and were then offered the option to go swimming which everyone declined. The boat started back to Halong City and about two hours after breakfast we had lunch before disembarking. Then back into the van for the drive back to Hanoi. No detours this time, but as predicted, another stop at a handicraft center for the disabled. Once back in Hanoi around 4:30 I had to rearrange all my clothes as I had only taken a small backpack on the boat. The next step was to repack the backpack for my 3 day trip to Sapa which would begin with a train trip at 9 PM. Once that was done, I went to the Blue Butterfly for dinner, used some rudimentary French with the staff there, and had the special of the evening Beef LaLotte, beef wrapped in some kind of leaf and cooked, and some spring rolls. The dinner was good and only about $6. Then back to the hotel to wait for the taxi. The hotel staff sent one of the young men with me to help me navigate the train station which really helped as there was no signage in English. More to follow.
