The start of 2020 found Julie and I travelling back from Melbourne in our Land Cruiser with our Tvan camper in tow. Our spirits were high and we were looking forward to travels later in the year to Europe.
We started making plans of the countries we wanted to visit and the places we wanted to see. Then Covid-19 reared its head and we started wondering if we would get to Europe. As things got worse we decided we would have to cancel our reunion with our bike.
So we started making plans to travel from Lake Grace to Darwin, down through the centre of the Northern Territory to Alice Springs and then along the Great Central Highway back to Perth.
But then Covid-19 got worse and Australia was closed down. With travel restrictions implemented in Western Australia and we were restricted to our houses, we started planning a winter at home.
Then things started to get better and the Western Australian government started easing restriction slowly and we were able to travel between some of our regions. Our hopes we slowing getting higher as the government eventually removed all travel restrictions within the state, we still couldn't travel out of the state, but a start is a start and on the 22nd of June we will be packing up our Land Cruiser and Tvan again and heading North for a warmer winter.
So, while we may not be rejoining our bike and travelling around Europe, we will be travelling and we are bound to be meeting interesting people and seeing stunning scenery.
