Dal Lat is in the central highlands of Vietnam where its beauty is in the open space; brisk, cool air and vast array of flower beds that have been tenderly planted in every nook and cranny. Mui Ne beach was once a diamond along a rugged Vietnamese coast line and proved too enticing to be ignored by the tourism industry. Our sleeper bus from HCMC to Mui Ne was a pleasantly easy five hour journey; with the exception of a Singapore youth coming to sit next to me and persisting in talking to me - despite my polite but quipped responses - for the final three hours of the journey.
