A host of people said to skip Nha Trang, 'There's nothing to do there.' they would all diligently say. They are all wrong however as there are roughly a billion Russians here, it's like their Mecca. I would wager that there are more Russians here than Vietnamese.

As well as a Russian holiday utopia, Nha Trang is also Vietnam's beach capital. It lacks the personal touch (like Mui Ne) as well as history, as it has been built quickly to accommodate a rush of tourism. Its towering buildings have bludgeoned the mountainous backdrop. Another, almost sickening feature, is Vinpearl. A billionaire's attempt at a Vietnamese Disney Land come aqua park. In the Hollywood fashion its name is stamped on the mountainside above the park and entrance can be obtained via either a fast boat or the longest over water cable car in the world (I begrudgingly admit that that is impressive).

Perhaps I am being unfair. Nha Trang's huge six kilometre beach is perfectly maintained and its blue waters offer a beautiful trip out to the many dotted islands off the shore. By all accounts the beachfront has been given a serious facelift of late and numerous statues and monuments are now sprinkled sporadically along it. Unsurprisingly, of all the places we have visited in Vietnam so far, Nha Trang has the biggest 'party vibe'. Its countless bars offer a healthy mixture of seediness and high-end luxury with dazzling disco lights to subtle water features.

Fearing these boisterous venues after the reprieve from normal civilisation that travelling conjures, Chelsea opted for a more sedate endeavour: a massage. Not just any massage mind you, this was a massage by blind Vietnamese women called, 'The Blind Massage'. The price was incredibly cheap compared to others in the same market and Chelsea came back energised, refreshed and singing the establishments praises. Personally, I hate massages unless they're by my partner. A stranger's hands on my naked and magnificent body is just bizarre!
