Nearing the end of our trip now. The Victory Hotel is nowhere near as nice as the other hotels we have stayed in but very close to the centre of Saigon. Out for 8:30 this morning packing our cases again and leaving most at the hotel whilst we go to the home stay on the Mekong Delta. Well what a day.... Left the hotel at 6am very sad to say goodbye to Hoi An. We left from Da Nang airport and having arrived in plenty of time to catch the 8:05 flight we were booked on... So we thought.... There was a massive check in area but only 4 or 5 desks open. 8am start today as we went off on a cycle your of a local island. A short bike ride took us to the local ferry followed by a 10 minute crossing. Well we slowed down today which was a nice change. Firstly we went to a local charity called Children Hope in Action which helps local disabled and disadvantaged children. It was run by an Australian lady called Jeanie who is over for 3 years building on the work. They provide food and sponsor children through school and cater for disabled children every day helping them become moe mobile and give their family a rest. Another early breakfast and we were on the bus at 8:30 leaving behind Hue for Hoi An. This involved a 3.5 hour coach ride. We left the main road to go up the pass the strides the mountains that split north and south Vietnam. Phi gave us a bit of a language lesson on the way where he tried to explain that most words have 5 different meanings depending on the tone you use when saying them. These are identified by the accents on the letter... Very interesting.... So...
