Phillips Family Travels
8am start today as we went off on a cycle your of a local island. A short bike ride took us to the local ferry followed by a 10 minute crossing. Once across we went past paddy fields, saw all the local children who all shouted hello and waved as we went past. We the visited three places... Firstly a rice wine house where we went through the whole production process, and heard the owner play his guitar and sing. Then onto a weaving place where they made colourful mats to sleep on (very thin and I am sure very uncomfortable. Finally and best we went to a noodle making place where we were showed how to make them and then stayed for lunch and ate what we had made - delicious. The cycle back and caught the ferry again... It was soooo hot today we drank so much water on the trip. Straight into town for the final fitting at the tailors. Mimi was the star of the show with her prom dress for next year which was a bargain. Back for a well earned swim whilst the girls had a manicure/pedicure and Kate a facial/massage! Finally into town for our last meal in Hoi An. What a lovely place a fantastic atmosphere and such friendly locals. We are so intertwined as a group that we are all swapping kids when they don't want to join in with what their family is doing, we have been so fortunate with the makeup of the group it has just worked. Bad news we have to be in reception at 6am tomorrow morning ready for our flight to Saigon.
