We woke up early and said goodbye to hotel kim to walk for the last time up the strip full of drug dealers on motorbikes, booze and food; but the baddies only really come out at night. We stopped off at a small stall selling mini pastries and we bought four small coconut pastry things for our journey. We sat outside the tourist info place where we are getting picked up in the hope that we will be on another sleeper bus. And we were.
We had to sit one in front of the other again instead of beside but we were both really tired and just wanted some sleep. We got cosy in our lounger seats with our feet in the roomy compartment at the bottom as we began the drive to Mui Ne. I don't recall much of the journey because i was sleeping but i remember a Russian woman falling down the aisle when the bus stopped abruptly, i was so glad it wasn't me.
We arrived on the strip by the coast after around a four/five hour trip, and it was the most pleasant journey i've ever had. We didn't know where we were heading for but went to a "rang garden villa" as we know there is a pool there. We walked back up the road but the rang garden villa we went to was undergoing construction and wasn't open yet. When we walked back we were greeted by a few locals on motorbikes advertising their guesthouses and villas. There was a man offering a $15 room at a villa with a pool which sounded great so we both had to get on the back of their bikes while they drove us to the villa.
It was further away than i thought but when we arrived it looked beautiful. The man at reception showed us two different rooms and we chose the one by the pool with a fan. We checked in and sat on the little table and chairs outside our room, painted to look like chunks of tree trunk. I had an iced vietnamese coffee which is so yummy and daniel went for a sprite.
Daniel jumped in the pool but i was reluctant to go in because of my scabs. In the evening we ventured two minutes down the road to a small, open-plan restaurant. I ordered fried noodles with chicken as did daniel and we both shared vegetarian spring rolls. The spring rolls were nice but when the noodles came i was disappointed to see that they were the instant type of noodles, i ate them anyway. We walked to a shop to buy cookies before we went back to our villa to watch "the internship" on my ipad. The room is so hot and stuffy i didn't get to bed until 01:00 and there are loads of tiny ants everywhere which didn't add to the situation. The fan was positioned on the opposite wall of the bed facing the floor so we had to fix it using a flip flop. Honestly, we are so make-shift now you could chuck us in the jungle naked with no food and we would come back dressed in fur packing a few more Kgs. We plan to go to the sand dunes tomorrow but will probably rent a scooter.
