Once i woke up and showered in the communal bathroom, i went downstairs to meet jacky. We both sat outside with a cup of coffee and a cigarette before retiring inside onto the couch with our iPads. After a while of chilling, we both got a bit peckish so walked up love lane to get something to eat. Jacky went to a street food stall and ordered keow teow flat noodles cooked with shrimps which looks similar to pad thai and while it was cooking, we went opposite the road to the mugshot cafe where they sell fresh bagels. The shop was divides into two; the mugshot cafe on the left selling salmon and cream cheese bagels as well as corned beef, turkey and cranberry and yoghurts whereas the cafe next door had a good selection of artisan pastries. Both shops looked like they belonged down a small side street in london somewhere.
I ordered a cream cheese bagel with the guy at the till and he told us to take a seat while the woman near the woodfire oven prepared it. I picked up a small business card which had two names on the front "Jesse" and "Tristan" so jacky and i were playing about with an american accent between ourselves saying "so which one is jesse and which one is tristan?" We each made our own guesses as to who was who. We decided that the round faced guy was Jesse. They both seemed very westernised as we heard them asking eachother about collecting air max trainers. Jacky popped back over the road to collect her noodles while i waited for my bagel to be ready. They were playing 80's classics in the cafe which had me and jacky singing along and dancing. I was handed my bagel, warm from the stone oven and we made our back to the hostel to munch.
Jacky and i sat down to tuck into our food. Hers was lovely, as was mine! Still doesn't beat brick lane bagels though! Daniel and zack joined us later and we all sat on the sofa watching the tv.
Met jacku downstairs. Brekkie. Walked to shopping mall to find jewellers. Great place perfect gifts. Nasi ladar. Back to histel to chill watch fulms. Out to inner canten tom yam noodle.
