We've decided to have a chilled day at out bungalow and on the beach to savour the last day in paradise. After leisurely waking up and smoking a j, we went to the restaurant for breakfast, we both got a full english breakfast with heinz baked beans which was delicious. We always seem to fall out over who's going up to order so i can't wait for table service again!
Once we finished our breakfast and let it settle, we took a walk up to the pier to get a box of the fresh fruit the couples had on the boat yesterday. The sand was so hot to walk on we ended up walking in the sea. You don't really need shoes while staying out here as everything is pretty much on sand; you just have to be careful with sharp bits of twigs and leaves that fall from the trees.
There were two fruit stalls beside each other but we opted for the first one where the woman was working. The fruit salad included tonnes of: pineapple, mango, dragon fruit, watermelon, orange, banana and apple.
We walked with our fruit back to our bungalow to smoke and eat our box full of goodness. We had a nap after we ate the fruit, Dan slept longer than me for once so i lay in the hammock keeping an eye open for a khmer woman who sells sweet breads and cake, recommended by Ben. By chance, as i glanced over to the sea after resting my eyes i saw her! I ran in to wake Daniel up, grabbed a few bucks and went toward her. She was beside a woman laying on the beach who was tucking into a pastry type bread thing she'd bought. I asked her if it was nice and she ripped some off for me to taste but i felt bad so declined.
We bought two slabs of cake with chocolate ad sprinkles and two sweet breads. We boat sat on the balcony eating the cake which was yummy and we wish we had bought more!
After our cakes, we decided to head in the sea before the sun began to set, plus i was dying for a wee and the sea is closer than the toilets. It was only us and the other couple in the water and we were casually floating around enjoying the sun when not far from us, dozens of fish began jumping out violently on the surface of the water, it was really creepy so we all slowly backed out of the sea closer to the shore. All i could think of was shark attack but it couldn't have been so close to land and in such warm waters.
After a little swim around, we got out of the sea and quickly had a shower.
Dan walked down the beach to get some more fresh fruit, this time he went to the man's stall where the portions were a lot bigger! We chilled on the balcony eating fruit and smoking for a while until it was a respectful time to go to dinner, around 19:00ish, a lot earlier than the other nights. I went for bangers and mash with rich gravy and fried onions but i opted for veggie sausages instead of the meat ones. It was yummy, the mash was nowhere near as nice ad my mum's but it was a little bite of home and the gravy was to die for, just like concentrated bovril. Once we'd finished our food we headed back to the bungalow to pack our things together and have a smoke before watching the moaning of life on Daniel's iPad.
