Today was another great day for a long distance walk, we walked from Fremantle to Perth along the beautiful Swan River, walking thru Mosman Park, Dalkeith, Nedlands and then along Mounts Bay Rd into Perth, checking out how the other half lives. The Swan river was busy with all the Sunday activities, sailing, canoeing, stand up boards and plenty of motor boats. Also lots of people out for a cycle ride, in fact we followed the cycle route, walking 24 km, a great effort. Feet very tender, no blisters, but it seems my boots may be too tight, thinking trying my older ones next weekend.
So what's all this for......
On May the 23rd this year, we will start on a journey across the northern part of Spain. This is one of many long distance pathways all leading to Santiago de Compostela. We will be following Camino Frances which we well start in SJDP, walking 800kms taking approximately 35 days. It is also known as The Way of St. James and is the ancient pilgrim path. People have been walking it since medieval times for various reasons, especially those wishing to experiences its potential for physical and spiritual renewal.
We will follow the Waymarks which is a yellow shell and plan not to get lost too offen.
