We arrived in Singapore at 3.30 in the morning (with about 3hrs sleep on the bus) and having not booked a hostel we knew we were unlikely to get a room until at least 7am. We knew the hostel we wanted to go to (but didn't know it's address) so we caught a taxi there - after driving around aimlessly with the driver asking us if every hostel we went past was the one we wanted to go to we quickly realised he didn't have a clue. So out we jumped paying half fare as he had taken us to the area known as Little India where we knew the hostel was. Out came the rough guide book and we went to find another hostel. Sitting down at 4am we rang the hostel number that was on the door to be informed we wouldn't be able to get in until 7am however fortune was on our side as next door there was a 7/11 open 24hrs that provided food and drink whilst the benches outside the hostel allowed us to chill out (but too small to sleep on) for 2 and half hours before one of the tennants in the hostel was leaving in the morning who let us so we could lay on the bean bags until the hostel opened in half an hour - heaven (we still couldn't get into a room until 11). During the wait for a room we took advantage of the free breakfast, internet and tea. We also took a wander around the local area. Finally in our room, i decided to take a shower upon my return Ben and Chris are botg asleep so i decided to head off to explore Singapore. Catching the MRT (underground) i made my way to the main shopping road and the CBD. When i got bck to the hostel the other 2 had gone so i decided it was my turn to sleep. Waking up it was time to get ready to go out and ben told me about his day which turned out he had been to exactl the same places as me. We started on the drink in our hostel before heading to a bar around the corner and finally catching a taxi to Ministry of sound once here Chris informed us he was going to get in for free and h ewould see us in there. STanding at the bar claiming our 2 free drinks Chris strolls over with a V.I.P stamp - he had ran into the owner outside the club and as he said had got in for free (luck of the Irish). The night was a top night and i eventually found my way to bed at 7am. The next day was spent chillin in front of the hostel TV watching films befor ecatching out plane in the evening on our way to Oz......
