11/7/15 - we are currently on our 6 hour Jaipur to Jodhpur road trip of 330km. So far it's been one very long motorway which is mostly used by road freight and judging by the advertising on the side of these lorries, the car manufacturer, 'Maruti Suzuki' uses 3 in 5 vehicles. Who's buying these new cars?
For a change the clouds have disappeared and we have blue skies! Hurrah and Hussar (Blackadder)!
We've arrived at the Park Plaza after almost 6.5 hours on the road - most of it dual carriageway and lots of sheep, cows and goats! Must be non-arable farm country.
Michael is swimming, I'm chilling (in the darkish as the electricity has gone off. It's common here!) and heading to the bar and restaurant in an hour or so.
Had a fantastic dinner last night: mixed kebab platter, tardka dhall (tarka in English money) and jeera rice - all served with some very fancy, conical shaped masala popadoms!
More food now as its breakfast time before our long tour of Jodhpur!
Jodhpur, which is smaller than all the towns / cities we've visited (bar Samode and Shimla) is an amazing place with stacks of history and exquisite craftsmanship - check out the photos!
A great day's sightseeing topped off with a pukka Indian lunch! Cheque please!
