9 hour bus journey later, after crossing the border of Thailand and getting a Cambodian visa we made it to Siem Reap. The difference between Thailand and Cambodia was apparent straight away, there is a lot more poverty in Cambodia, a lot more beging.

The hotel we are staying in with our GAP group is not quite on the same level as the hotels we stayed in in China. There is a big sign at the hotel saying 'do not bring guns in'

We went out for a meal with our group and tour guide Nin to alocal resturant which had a live dancing show which the locals put on. The food here is so cheap out food together came to 5 US Dollars including drinks!! a lot cheaper than China and Thailand. We took a Tuk Tuk back to our hotel even though it was in walking distance our tour guide advised we take a Tuk Tuk as it can be dangerous at night around the back streets.

This morning we woke at 4.30 am ready to take the bus to Angkor Wat (hope you all did your research to find out what Angkor Wat is) we were hoping to view the sunrise from behind the temple, so we sat waiting patiently with the river inbetween us and Angkor Wat. And after the wait it turns out it was a little too cloudy to see the sunrise today...typical! But it was still very stunning! we went back to have breakfast at the hotel, which was a interesting combination rice, pinapple eggy bread, fruit and toast! We then went back to Angkor Wat to look around the whole temple and also another 2 temples nearby, one of which is where they filmed Lara Croft Tomb Raider. We went to lunch at a local resturant (again very different standard to China) We seem to have made friends with a cat who sat behind both of our chairs )of course we shared our food with him). On the drive back to the hotel we saw monkeys by the side of the road, so we went out to get some pictures and video. very suprising how close you could get to them.

We have found that Cambodia so far is very pretty country. Tonight we are going out for another 5 Dollar meal with our group at 8pm! Long drive ahead tommorrow!
