Singapore...well we didnt get off to a good start in Singapore. It took us 3 taxis, a shuttle bus and a stop at an internet cafe to actually find a backpackers hostel that exists!! Arriving in Phuket via ferry, we had mixed emotions as people had been warning us that Phuket has been totally ruined and that we wouldnt enjoy it. Anyway we managed to find a good deal for a really decent hotel room in Patong (yes we braved it, we wanted to see it for ourselves). A bit of a dissapointment, the place we stayed the pool was filthy the beach was littered with rubbish, the food was expensive! A big change from Phi Phi, we realised we should have come here first so as not to be disapointed! We would not go back to Koh Lanta again!

Next Stop Phi Phi!! When the ferry pulls up to Phi Phi pier you see the beauty of the island and its beaches straight away. First we stayed on Rantee Bay, which was deserted except for one other Deutch couple. We took the lonley planets advice and stayed in a very clean hostel in the centre of Krabi town, not realising just how far away the beach was. Luckily you could get a tuk tuk for 50baht so it wasnt too bad. after hearing a lot of criticism about Ao Nang beach we wanted to check it out for ourselves and we found a white sand beach with beautiful water, and wished we didnt take advice from the lonely plant (it seems to be wrong a lot).
