Left the campsite late and drove to the lakes to while away the time till the vet appointment. After that we went on the hunt for the next campsite. Drove to Escalles but didn't like the 2 sites there so moved on to Le petite source at Hames-Boucres. Booked in for 2 nights then realised we had made a big mistake. The place was not at all good, the showers and toilets were new but no toilet paper and muddy footprints all over the floors. The general site grounds were totally unkempt. We should have known by the approach road, well I say road... We took Bella for a run but the only available place was the entry road, along which was a small grassy area adjacent to a stream. Bella chased her ball a couple of times then went straight into the water, it had thick mud at the bottom and she was up to her armpits. Had to take her back to the van and bath her because she stunk to high heaven. Anyway after that we went for a long walk, found an open bar and stayed as long as we could. Went back to van had dinner and an early night. Not much sleep as there were people shouting at all hours of the night and at daybreak loads of ducks were running around quacking their heads off... deep joy.
