We had company for our early start as the pre-dawn call to prayer was broadcast proudly from the next door mosque for Ramadan at 520am. The 315 start was hideous but soon we were crammed, with our bags, into a taxi, driven by one of the hotel's chefs, in his stained whites, and heading out of town for the Nyngezi bus station. Station was an overstatement, carpark would have been more appropriate, and which ever bright spark decided to locate the public transport hub 20km outside the city centre was obviously also the brains behind the rest of Tanzanias inefficient public transport network. Finally a quiet day and the real true Father's Day. We relaxed by the pool, communicated extensively with the outside world and for old times sake waited an inordinately long time for lunch. After an unbelievably good nights sleep we joined Charlie and Hattie for a rather underwhelming breakfast where we avoided the chicken soup and chilli fish which looked as though it had been left out from the night before.
