We were all awake as the sun rose over the Indian Ocean. I broke out of the mosquito net and wandered along the foreshore as the first hint of its glow started on the horizon. It was beautifully peaceful as locals sifted the shallow water for produce and fisherman set off in their wooden boats towards the off shore waves of the reef.
A short walk along the high tide line got us all ready for breakfast and after Charlie had completed his Skype interview with Kiwi-land we demolished plates of fruit and eggs and a cafetière of coffee. The view was unparalleled and as we had the hotel to ourselves there was no problem with finding a second Banda.
We had a relaxing day on the beach reading, swimming and taking an investigatory walk up the coast to Paje where we could see clusters of kites flying. We got a great deal on an 3 day introduction to kitesurfing and waded back through the high tide water to see out the last of the sun excited about the prospects of the next 3 days kitesurfing.
We spent the afternoon reading on the beach, eventually deciding to eat in the restaurant, which it turns out is the best place to eat seafood around and although it took over an hour the food was fantastic. We made the most of the bar's communal mosquito repellant before returning to our separate dwellings painfully rotund and very excited about our early start the next morning.
