Miffy's Mischievous Adventures
Hi
After being dropped off in the middle of nowhere at 06:00 in the morning we had a few issues with getting the boat to the Palau Perhentian Islands. Every single time you are in transit, people are trying to con you and get money from you. But you get use to it and we held to our guns and made a few phone calls etc and managed to get on a 09:00 boat. We were meant to be on the 07:00 boat.
Kecil Island (small island) was really beautiful and we checked in to a place called Lemon Grass. We were really lucky as it was the last Chalet available. Again the chalet was basic as basic can be but thats is all you need. A bed, electric now and then and shared shower/toilet facilities! Perfect and a bargain again for one pound fifty.... We had a pet for the off, a very pretty gecko. This is a good thing as the gecko's eat the insects. Also there was monitor lizards just walking about everywhere which was cool.
We met some lovely Swedes that were in the the adjacent Chalet. We had two quality evening with Daniel and Janni. Daniel and I shared the love for the beautiful game and Cyrina and Janni both had a passion for latin america - they spoke spanish together for most of the night. One night we ordered a bottle of wine which we started to drink but wasn't very nice. So we checked the bottle and they had given us the wrong wine. They did change it but when we turned round the bar man was usin a funnel to pour the wine back into the bottle. It was funny considering I had a tooth infection! The food in the evening was good, I mainly had bbq'd fish every night and tried barracuda, blue marlin and king fish. All very nice.
I'm now writing this in Kuala Lumpur and I've just dumped into Janni again which was nice, so we are meeting up tonight with the other girls. Daniel is currently in the Cameron Highlands and before leaving the Perhentian Islands we arranged to meet in KL to watch the start of the world cup.
I completed three dives and they were all very good. The first was a wreck dive and I loved it, the atmosphere was completely different from all the other dives that I have completed. We saw lion fish, giant barracuda, puffer fish and loads more. The current was really strong which I wasn't use too.
The second and third dives were cool too. We saw moray eels, a giant ray, a turtle, clown fish (nemo's), cuttlefish and again loads of other quality marine life. I wished I had completed a couple more dives but I thought it would be better to finish my medication first. After four days on Kecil we decided to go to the oldest jungle in the world via the Kota Bharu and the Jungle Railway.
The picture isn't the Perhentian Islands as I'm unable to upload them currently - but I sort it some.
Bye for now
