Miffy's Mischievous Adventures
Hi all,
I'm currently in Bali and pretty ...... off as I had my wallet stolen last night (well a while ago now). Sixty quid, my cards, driving license etc etc all gone. Hence why the bullet point description of my time in Singapore!
Arrived in Singapore pretty late and met Jules at the hostel which was nice. It was really good to see her.
We explored the famous Orchard road which was just a shopping mall haven! I have never seen so many shopping mall's in all my life. Apparently, shopping is Singapore's favourate past time - no sh*t sherlock... But with no intension of buying anything we soon decided to move on.
The next day we decided to go to Sentosa island which is a complete man made Island built for entertainment. We hit the beach which was nice and relaxing but it just didn't feel right. You could clearly see that it was artificial which was strange. We also had a good look around and went to the Aquarium and the pink dolphin show.
I was strange being in Singapore after spending over four months in thailand, malaysia, cambodia and borneo. Singapore is so clean, efficient and western in so many ways, it's kind of like a futuristic city! I was definitely suffering from culture shock for the first few days but I adapted slowly.
We went to the Botanical Gardens the next day which was stunning. It was just a park to chill out in but I've never seen a park like this before. It was so beautiful, clean and relaxing.
The Night Safari was excellent! As soon as you walk in, there was a fire show which was interesting. We went straight into the 'Creatures of the Night' show which was really good. After that we went on the tram ride that takes you through the huge park. It was broken up into the different continents and what types to animals you would see in each. The varity of animals that we saw was amazing! I really enjoyed the night safari.
We also visited Raffles Hotel and indulged in a Singapore Sling. The cocktail was really nice! For 30 singapore dollars it should of been nice. The hotel was really really posh from the outside and I felt a bit out of place but as soon as we walked into the Long Bar I felt at home! There was monkey nut shells all over the floor. It was so funny.
Singapore Zoo was absolutely fantastic. The way it was set out and the natural conditions were brilliant. The variety of animals was astonishing too, no wonder it is rated the best zoo in the world.
Anyway must fly as I've got stuff to sort out - like the two hundred pounds worth of fraudulent transaction now on my credit card!
Bye
