Day one of week seven and St. Valentine’s Day. A chance for the cruise line to sell overpriced meals in the speciality restaurants.
Another ordinary sea day. The weather was overcast all the time. It was windy (force 6) all day and we never saw the sun as such. Despite the wind it was around 26 degrees. We sat on the Promenade Deck in the morning and for a change we sat at the back of the ship on Deck 11 in the afternoon. We know how to live!
Up in the ceiling by the stairs on the back deck there was a bird. It looked a little like a moorhen, but the underside was quite a nice blue. A crew member came and captured it with a towel! We think it’s a Purple Gallinule.
While I was in the shower, Clarissa, our room steward, delivered a red rose for Barbara.
After dinner Rob, Barbara, Norman and I sat on the Terrace Deck and killed a decent bottle of Tannat wine. I have two more plus a bottle of Pisco Sour to drink in the same fashion. The other two bottles are coming home with me, although I intend to be dry from arriving home until Barb and I set sail in Barcelona on April 28.
We scored 14/20 in the Syndicate Quiz with the winners scoring 17/20. This time it wasn’t table 39 and they looked mightily pissed off!
