It’s not Barbuda, it’s Antigua. The Off Exploring app strikes again! Today Barb, Rob, Lin and I took an island tour with a lobster lunch. We visited Block Fort and then Shirley Heights before going to Nelson’s Dockyard for lunch. Although I’ve been to Antigua at least three times before, it was my first time at Shirley Heights. It has a stunning view of English Bay. We were supposed to have one drink with dinner and we all chose rum punch. However, Angella (correct spelling), the tour guide, said to tip her the wink and she’d bring more. We did and she did. Then we went to a beach but I’d forgotten my swimwear, doh. Not that it mattered as we sat at the bar and had another, included, rum punch. Back on board Barbara was sloshed and promptly fell asleep in the cabin. I had a dozette and then went upstairs for the Great British Sailaway, only to find it had just finished! Rob was there with June and Sam. So I joined them and he gave me a couple of G&T’s.
Only Phil, Yvonne, Linda and I made it to dinner, Rob and Barbara were sleeping off their excesses in their cabins. We joined Lorna and John for the royals quiz in Champion’s. We lost by one. Only Phil and I made to the Syndicate Quiz. We scored 8! Once again the b*****s on table 39 won. Shaun Wallace the ‘Dark Destroyer’ from the Chase was sat next to us. We tried to get him to join our team but Liam, the question master, decided he should play on his own. He came third. We chatted in between rounds and he’s a very nice man. Just like Lembit Opik, he’s nothing like his public persona.
