Day one of week fifteen, my final week. I can't believe I'm so close to the end of the cruise. Weather is getting cooler but it's still very pleasant to sit out in. After breakfast and a mile, I went through the wardrobes and pulled out clean stuff that won't be worn again and stuff that needed washing. The clean stuff is now in a suitcase (stored not packed) and the rest has been laundered and is ready for packing.
Men trounced the ladies in BoS meaning it's now 8-2 to the girls. I lost in the second round of deck quoits, but Barbara got through to the final with her partner of the day, Derek, an ex-chairman of Bedford bench. They lost to John and Jennifer, good players who are married to each other. I didn't do the Individual quiz today as Rob, Linda, Barb and I ate early at Sindhu.
The Captain came on at 18:35 to say that we may have noticed that we have slowed down. Basically the engines had stopped and they were trying to restart them! Our Sindhu booking was for 18:45, but because of the engine situation (apparently, clouds of thick, acrid, black smoke blew out of the funnels), we couldn't eat until about 19:15, after they'd restarted a couple of the engines. The food in Sindhu was as good as ever, but the service was a little lacking this time around.
We took part in the 60's music quiz and lost by a point and then Barbara, Rob, Lin and I took part in the Race Night. Once again Barb and I won nothing, but the others won on a couple of races.
Amazingly, we've had a 24 hour day today as the clocks weren't changed.
