Yep, they are real flamingos! In the wild! Today we found our way to a place called Celestun. This town is on the coast and is home to a small fishing village. We caught a boat that took us around the inlet and through some mangroves - all of which feeds into the Gulf of Mexico! We saw lots of bird life out on the water. And then out of no where we came across paradise! There were about 1000 flamingos all just doing what flamingos do... Standing around not doin...

Last night, Richelle and I ended up going out to try and find something to eat! What we found instead was the disco bus! Now this is the best $2 I have ever spent! Pretty much we are all herded onto the top of this safari bus, that has been decorated with parrots and disco lights!! There is a sub-woofer in the front of the bus that blares out music which is a combination of reggae and mariachi!! The bus just drives up and down the one Main street in Palenque!!...

This morning we actually got up before the roosters!! I was showered and dressed before they started crowing!! We were off to see the ruins of Palenque today. This had a whole new meaning, as the play we saw the other night in San cristobal is based on what they found here in Palenque!! The stone carvings are absolutely amazing!! They are so clear!! Today we said goodbye to San Cristobal, and hello to Palenque. The bus took about 6 hours to make the 221km journey north east. The roads were winding through the hills, with some spectacular views at times.
