Mich Goes Walk About
Arrived here yesterday, after travelling on local buses for 5 hours. I had to change buses at one point, and was dropped at a bus station to be told that the bus i wanted had stopped running. The information I'd been given by the Tourist Information Office was out of date. But I jumped on a bus heading south, and when we pulled up into a desserted bus stop another bus pulled up beside us, heading where i wanted to go. With the help of the Thai guy who worked on the bus (bit like a conductor) within seconds we were running across the dust track to catch the other bus.
Anyway, decided to spend two days here to break up the journey south. Yesterday the weather was lovely and I spend a few hours on the beach. Managed to find a desserted bit of sand that didn't have a sun bed or tourist in sight. With only my book about Lenin for company i was really content. Today however has been a different story. There was a massive storm last night. Never again will i be afraid of thunder in the UK. I have never experienced anything like it, the rain was so heavy and the thunder was so loud. Between the rain and the wind many buildings were damaged, and even though the winds are still high today (hence no sunbathing today) i wondered around earlier and one building had literally callapsed!
