Mich Goes Walk About
After I opened all my Valentines Cards on Monday 14th, we started making our way to Cambodia. We got local buses on to the boarder, which wasn't to painful and once we crossed the boarder we took a pick up truck. We were cramed into the back of a truck with 13 adults and two children, who didn't speak a word of English. But that didn't stop them talking to us, all we could do was smile. The roads in Cambodia are awful, they aren't really roads just dust tracks. It was without a doubt the most uncomfortable journey I've ever had, but possibly one of the best experiences I've ever had. It was like something out of a film script. The whole journey from Thailand until we reached a guesthouse in Siem Reap was about 11 hours. Was it worth it??? My god yes! We spent two days exploring the Temples at Angkor, (Lara Croft eat your heart out) which were amazing! I can't really do them justice, but once i get my pictures uploaded that should give you some idea!
I didn't expect to like Cambodia that much, but for some reason it absolutely fascinated me. the history there is amazing. And am a bit disappoitned that we had to leave so soon as would of liked to travel south. Oh well, maybe next time!
