A walk along the banks of The Danube is as romantic as it gets really and after the chocolate festival, me and Monica took quite a long walk at night.
From the Buda side of the river, we crossed the beautiful Chain Bridge - we were lucky that it was closed to traffic tonight and it really was so busy with couples enjoying the romance that was being presented to them by the city.
We walked past the Parliament Building and on past Margret Bridge, walking parallel to the island. The island is not well lit at night, it doesn't look inviting at nights, close to looking sinister in my eyes, so we stayed on the bank. We walked to the next bridge (name escapes me, Arpad Bridge I think) and it was all very pleasant until the last 1/2 mile or so that's very poorly lit. I wouldn't say scary or intimidating as such, but we didn't like the long dark wooded areas by the banks and so took the last 1/2 mile by the main road.
But this was as I say the last 1/2 mile, the other 3 and a half miles or so that we walked was lovely and well lit, actually really romantic.
We managed to get a tram from the Arpad Bridge to our bus stop at Szentelek ter and once there, we were fine
