Our morning routine will need to be refined. We should probably aim to be on the road a bit before 10.30 if we are going to get to Las Vegas in time! The aim is to get to Springfield today. Today is the day. We are scheduled to be picked up at 8am for our transport to the RV. We grab a coffee and sort of Brekkie and wait. The drive is around 90 minutes and seamless. Today we are up bright and early for a walk to the beach. The hotel is 1 mile from the beach. It is once again a beautiful day, not so hot as yet and no sign of last nights storm. We are not the only ones walking along the lakefront . It's a public holiday so there are walkers, joggers, cyclists and swimmers all enjoying possibly the last of the summer weather. This is our first full day in Chicago. The day starts with breakfast at a restaurant on State Street just across the river from our hotel. It's a beautiful day, going to be hot. It's Sunday so the city is quiet around the business sector but as it is the Labour day weekend it's busy with families and visitors. The hop on hop off bus is our mode of transport for today.
