Farewelled Pitlochry this morning after a lovely breakfast at our hotel. Our first stop this morning was at Scone Castle. Again a very majestic driveway reveals beautiful grounds and castle building. This is the place where the Coronation of Kings of Scotland took place. The tour takes us through many rooms which house a great display of the furniture of the time. The palace is still used today by the family or it can also be booked for weddings and functions.
The gardens are extensive but not as formal as other castles. The trees are huge and centuries old. Peacocks roam the lawns and apparently there is a peahen and chicks nut they did not show themselves. Before leaving the castle we have coffee and yep a scone at Scone castle
