And we are away! First stop Dubai and a long bus ride from the plane, followed by a long walk through the airport to get to the gate for the onward flight to Glasgow. We arrived in Dubai at 5.30am and it was 35 degrees!
Flights have been easy and uneventful. The offer of party pies at 4am amused me but Glenn was happy to accept!
So far we have had dinner, a snack and breakfast between Adelaide and Dubai and second breakfast, a snack and lunch from Dubai to Glasgow!
Arrived in Glasgow after 7 hour flight. We pick up the car and hit the road.
The scenery is beautiful. Green rolling hills and water everywhere. We stop at Loch Lamont, which is a large fresh water loch used for lots of recreational activities.
It's drizzly rain but still ok to walk around and it's not cold.
We arrive at our accommodation, a stately old home B&B on the shores of Loch Long. Knockderry House consists of many rooms and ours is on the top floor up a narrow winding staircase. It's very formal with a library, sitting room and dining room where they serve a fine dining 3 course dinner. We are not the fine dining types especially after traveling so we are looking for a simple meal and an early night. After a short drive we come to a village called Rosesneath and we shop at the minimart to get some ham, rolls and chips to have a picnic tea on the shores of the Loch.
Early night.
