Today was our day off. We explored the warf district and discovered that since it was fleetweek there were navy ships available for tour. We toured one of the USS Michael Monsoor, a Zumwalt class guided missle destroyer. Only two are in the Navy at this point. Today started out with a trip to the Black mountain Cycle shop in Point Reyes. Laura needed a newcable and I needed a new inner tube. Weather was good and the ride was hilly in some places. As we crossed the Golden Gate bridge we were hit by very strong winds that made it almost impossible to stay on the bike. Today started out as 50 degree misty morning. Eventually the mist lifted and it turned sunny in the 60s. Occasionally fog rolled in from time to time and cooled us down. Laura was not able to find a bike shop to fix her cable so she rode in the van. The ride was 42 miles of rolling hills with a total elevation around 3,400 feet.

We were unable to fix Laura's bike ourselves so she had to ride the van today. It is Sunday so the bike shops were closed. I biked with other team members. There was one hill about 1,400 ft to start our day. It gave rise to a 6 mile downhill that we really enjoyed. Lots of sun today and temp in the 60s made it a great day.

This is the first day we had cell service in several days. It started out foggy but brightened to one of the warmest days yet. It was an inland route so there weren't many scenic views. On top of that Laura broke her deraileur cable snapped and had to be rescued. The campsite we were scheduled to camp at had a broken sewer system. We were able to find sites at the Redwood Resort and Pub RV camp. Clean showers and 80 degree weather is a great combination.
