We had another great day weather wise. Low 50s in the morning warming to the low 60s. Beautiful ocean views as we climbed almost 4,000 ft over 62 miles. Our campground is at Beverly beach outside of Newport.

Today was a day of scattered showers that cleared at the end of the day giving us beautiful warm sun to start the evening. We are staying at Louis W. Hill State Park with our campsite a two minute walk to the beach. The highlight of the day was the Tillamook Facrory where I enjoyed ice cream for the first time in two weeks. We have bike almost 600 miles and are nearing one third of the way to our destination.

This was our first day riding down the Pacific coast on 101. The weather was perfect from start to finish. The views of the Pacific were beautiful. We stopped at Cannon beach and saw Haystack rock. Several large hills made the day a challenge with speeding traffic whizzing by. One tunnel was especially tight but a tractor trailer blocked traffic for us letting us pass through the tunnel without incident. The Nehalem Bay State Park campground backs directly to the...

Today was our first day off of the trip. We were able to sleep in, get our laundry done, and relax around the camp ground. Laura and I were able to bike to Fort Stevens State Park which has an ocean front beach. It was windy and cool but well worth the ride.

Left Washington state behind when we hopped the ferry across the Columbia river to Oregon. Although the forecast was all day rain we only had a few showers which allowed for great views. Tonight we stay in a KOA campground with showers and laundry.
