So after quite a fun journey on the sleeper train - with very clever seat/bed formations - we arrived at 515am in Bangkok.

Bangkok is the smelliest, dirtiest, most manic place I have ever been in. Some of the people are also horrible. We have been shouted at by travel agents for shopping around and told "you should not compare prices - do you do that when you go out for dinner" when we answered yes they got a little angry! But we needed to shop around when the "authorised" travel agents charge triple the bus fare.

There is also a very corrupt system where tuk tuk drivers get commission for dropping you at shops or travel agents. They also charge ridiculous amounts. generally lots of money grabbers.

So after 12 hours in the place we are going to head into Laos on the overnight bus and return in a week. Hopefully when we have had more sleep we will find the place nicer!

We visited the king's palace and other important buildings (all rip you off with making you pay for baggage storage when you are not allowed to take your bags in!) It is just Rude!
