So we went to get the bus from mel's which was about 40 mins late - we almost decided to give up and stay with mels longer but didnt want to be charged for our brisbane hostel booking and not use it.

So we had a quick bus ride to brisbane - because the bus was late noone could collect us so we walked to the hostel to be told that we didnt have a bed - yes they had a bokking for us but had not saved us a bed.

They shipped us out to another hostel 10 mins out of town which we didnt like so we sulked! Well Mel did

Today is much better we left at 730am and headed into brisbane. it is weird to be back in a city again. Although it is quite spacious here and all centered around the river. It is quite a small city and has weird futuristic roads which hover above the river.

We wondered around Southbank and realised we were here for the cultural opening this weekend so will be very busy for next 48 hours with free salsa classes, surflifesaving shows, open air movies, concerts, poetry readings, aqua aerobics and much more.

Brisbane impressed Mel by being the 2nd city to provide fluffy clouds and having surf lifesaving adverts everywhere. Lifeguards are provided at the lagoon from 7am until midnight! And we also found the brand new library which has free internet access and had an exhibition with ned kelly's helmet.

We went to the Museum and saw the smallest boat to sail around the world - and it stopped at cocos!

Had a nice walk through the shopping precinct and mel found some pink clog shoe things like mum got in canada for a bargain price! Watched some aerobatic circus show as we enjoyed our fluffy clouds.

We are now off to watch the xmas lights be turned on - it should be cold or snowing or something!
