So at 5am this morning we awoke grumpily and then realised our tuk tuk driver had overslept so with no loyalty we hired another one to take us out to the temples. First stop was the biggy - Angkor Wat - which we hit for a glorious sunrise. We spent two hours hear in the good lighting of early morning before completing the "mini loop" which stopped at the Bayon with it's 54 stone pillars each with a face looking to each cardinal point and the rest of Angkor Thon.
Having finished these two main stops by 11 we realised we were going to struggle to string this all the way to sunset, but our tuk tuk driver took us to every near temple and we felt we saw the largest variety. The Tomb Raider Temple Ta Prohm was another highlight, and we visited its less popular baby brother as well. We finished at Pre Rup which was really attractive and a bit off the beaten track so we had it pretty much to ourselves. Still not sunset though so we retired to our terrace bar where Mel watched a Linsey Lohan food and Stu had some Sour Soup!
Hope everyone had a good Easter,
Lots of love from the continent where we have finished the temples!
