We had a delightful French meal in Monoco last night and visited the Monte Carlo casino before heading back to our hotel in Nice.
Wow! What a place! Monoco is the richest country in the world on average. They have a 0% unemployment rate and the average wage is $230,000 US. They became a nation because France got sick of them whinging about everything. Sounds a but like Kelman! Ian, I think this is where you should buy your next place. Apparently you need to pay 1,000,000€ (about $1,200,000) for the privilege to apply to live here! The marina was full of fancy boats, including some with helipads!
The casino was very different to Star City and those you see in the Vegas movies (or for real if you are lucky enough!). It was in a very old building. Again, I spent a lot of time looking up at the ceiling! Very James Bond! We felt very out of place, especially at the table with a 300€ minimum bet (don't worry, we didn't bet there!). The carpark was insane... Lambourginis, Porshes, Bentleys, Ferraris and Rolls Royces. Oh, and so many stupid Smart cars and a Mini!
Monoco is also home to the Grand Prix. We had fun driving over the starting grid and through the tunnels of the track.
Quite an experience, but as I sat on a velvet lounge drinking my 11€ (plus tip) red wine, I realised I didn't crave this lifestyle. I felt much more comfortable in the bucket seats in the lower class sports bar!
P.S. This is not an original photo. Sorry, I forgot to take one!

Deb Dad called you a lucky devil.
Kaylene Dad wants to know if you saw any Tomasinos. Scott????
Grando Not sure I can afford Monaco. But, keep your eyes peeled for an old castle or someting of the like around the $250,000 Aud mark. A renovators delight would be fine.
meganandscott No, Scott seems to think that Tomosinos are quite rare. We will keep our eyes out for one and also for a cheap castle.
