Another early start this morning as we had more climbing to do today. This time it was Frenchman's Peak in Cape Le Grande National Park which is about 262m above sea level but very steep and all just a granite face to walk up. Some more awesome views and there is an interesting cave just down from the top of the peak..
After our climb we headed to Lucky Bay which is apparently the whitest beach in Australia according to some scientists that measured the whiteness (silica content) of the sand. The sand has a really strange feel to it, very fine a bit like icing sugar. Had a swim here and it was freezing! That's what you get swimming in the Southern ocean I guess. There is a lot of other stunning beaches around here including Hellfire Bay which according to the same scientists is the 3rd whitest beach in Australia.
Our next overnight stop was in Kalgoorlie, a gold mining town. Famous for it's gold and it's brothels. We even went for a tour through a brothel, 'Langtrees' which is owned by a Kiwi! After the tour we got to hire out the entertainment area where there was a spa, sauna and pool in a really nice outdoor area. No hookers involved! Was a fun night.
