Arrived in Colombo, after a not so nice flight, and I have done lots of flights in my life and can say: this one was pretty s***....!
The women next to me had very bad flue and cried all time, as she felt super sick! The guy behind me, must have been incredibly nervous as he constantly twitched with his legs against my seat- I turned around 20 times or pushed back- HE CUD NOT CARE LESS.
Beside me sat two men, who must have been friends with the rest of the plane. At some point about 8 men stood around my seat chit-chatting to those- and the aisle is not so wide, so one or two were always half sitting on my lap! Loved it!
The guy at passport control, who checked my visa, would not accept it! He insisted I had to change my nationality to dutch, and cud not have German in there! I loved it as well, as you can all imagine!
In the end I waited in 2 different offices, like a prisoner and had to buy a new visa!
Well, after all that I finally came out the airport, where my boy was waiting already! Awesome!
Stayed near the airport that night and then met up with our Aussie family the next afternoon!
Every person tried and tries to rip you off! An agreed taxi price means nothing! Taxi driver just stopped and said the price has changed! What do you do in the middle of nowhere?
The tuktuks cost between 50 and 150 rubies depending on the driver! Every step you do costs something! People are very rude on top of that. Amazing!
Colombo is so busy and dirty! Didn't like the city at all and no desire to ever come back!
Went to a nice colonial hotel and stayed by the swimming pool and had some nice dinner by the beach at night.
Our trip starts now- hitting the mountains and the wildlife.....!
